Heb je altijd al eens iets van hout willen maken? Een eigen meubelstuk, verbindingen maken, met je handen werken, iets vorm laten krijgen wat in jou zit?
Ik bied een workshop waarin je je eigen magische meubel kunt gaan maken. Magisch noem ik t, want dit meubel is geen statisch object, maar een dynamische werkplek waar je je dagelijks mee afstemt en creatie in proces brengt. Je laat verbinden met je hartsverlangen je intentie helpt zetten voor de dag. Een Altaar. Zo zou je kunnen gaan ervaren dat het leven je niet uitsluitend overkomt, maar jij wel degelijk actieve invloed hebt op de voortgang ervan.
Opnieuw verbinden
Tien jaar geleden had ik een eigen meubelmakerij. Hier ontwierp en maakte ik meubels voor mijn klanten, soms met plezier, maar vaak onder druk van tijd en geld en produceerde daarbij veel afval, wat maakte dat ik me van het vak af bewoog.
Nu verbind ik me opnieuw, maar vanuit een ander perspectief. Vanuit stilte en afstemming gaan voelen wat er wil ontstaan. In dit proces begeleid ik je. Visualisaties, meditatie, verbinden met de natuur zijn dingen die ruim aan bod komen.
Genieten van het maakproces is belangrijk, no presure.. spelen, voelen, creëren, je door je intuitie laten leiden.
En ja, praktisch gaan we ook aan de slag! In de werkplaats leer ik je hoe te werken met houtbewerkingsmachines als de formaatzaag, de frees en de vlak-van dikte bank. Leer ik je technieken zoals houtverbindingen maken, deurtjes afhangen, sponningen slaan en leer ik je het houtsoort kennen wat je hebt uitgekozen om mee aan de slag te gaan.
Hoe voelt t, ruikt t en wat gebeurt er als je t ‘tegen de haren in strijkt’?
Een creatieve werkplek waar je je dagelijks aan kunt verbinden en jouw verlangens visualiseert en zo nog veel meer moois creëert!
We werken met materialen dat al een bestemming heeft gehad. Denk aan dat erfstuk van je oma wat een belangrijke emotionele waarde heeft, maar niet zo goed samen gaat met je interieur of iets uit de kringloop waar je spontaan tegenaan liep. Of misschien heb je nog wat mooie oude vloerplanken over?
Dit gaat mee in het proces, heeft al zoveel verhaal en is natuurlijk ook duurzaam en produceren we geen afval!
Wat gaan we doen?
In deze workshop kun je verwachten dat :
We de dag starten met een meditatie/visualisatie en creëren een visionboard die de basis vormt van jou altaar. Je gaat ervaren waar jij op betrokken bent, je passie naar uit gaat en waar je echt je focus op wilt gaan leggen in de komende tijd.
Je met machines leert werken zoals de vlak- van diktebank, de formaatzaag, een bovenfrees, en met handgereedschap zoals de beitel en de schaaf. Je leert schuren en oliën, je leert het hout dat je mee hebt gebracht kennen. Ik begeleid je en je hoeft geen uitgebreide kennis van machines, gereedschap of materialen te hebben.
Ik werk in een kader, met een bestaand basisontwerp waarbij je genoeg kunt inbrengen en toevoegen zodat het jouw eigen, unieke meubelstuk wordt.
We werken met materialen die al een bestemming hebben gehad. Iets wat je hebt meegenomen uit het kringloopcentrum of een ander meubelstuk met verhaal dat ergens staat te verstoffen, wachtend om nieuw leven in geblazen te worden.
Aan het einde van de workshop heb jij je eigen altaar, een creatieve werkplek waar je je dagelijks aan kunt verbinden en jouw verlangens visualiseert en zo nog veel meer moois creëert!

De workshop zal plaatsvinden in Almere-Oosterwold, Ubuntulaan 47, 1349EH
We workshop bestaat uit 5 losse werkdagen van 10u tot 16u, verdeeld over 5 weken. Voor data van de dagen kun je contact met me opnemen.
De kosten voor deze workshop zijn 690,- inclusief lunch.

A heavenly place, up in the Swiss mountains.

A romantic old village where wildlife is so flourishing, green and abundant.
You can smell the flowers, drink water directly from source, so vital and so alive.. pick herbs anywhere in the environment and eat vegetables and fruit directly from the garden. Or better yet…since we are in heaven, dinner will be prepared by the amazing cooks just when you need it.
Fantastic walks up the mountains and down the valleys with amazing waterfalls, each view more mind-blowing then the next..
... And in the midst of all this.. imagine a lovely workshop made out of old bricks, covert with moss and lovely growing roses, clematis, wisteria. Inside is where the magic happens. Enough tools and machinery to realize what you’ve just created in your head, your soul, with enough inspiration.
I will guide you through the exciting process of manifestation, trough meditation, visualization from which we will create a vision board that will help you in the process of the creation of your own altar.

An altar, the way I see it, is not a static piece of furniture. It’s a dynamic workplace which you can relate to each and every day and bring creation into process. It helps you to remember and connect to your heart’s desire and will guide you in setting your intentions for the day. This way you could experience that live is not merely something that happens to you, but you can definitely influence the way it will enroll.
My name is Irene Werdler. I work as an acupuncturist and coach in life processes.
I used to have my own workshop where I designed and created furniture, often under pressure and produced a lot of waste along the way..That made me turn away from my old profession.
Now, ten years later, I’m again connecting to these old skills, but from a different perspective. To feel from a place of silence and connection, what wants to be created. In this process I will guide you. Through Visualization, meditation, connect with nature, are all things that will be touched. And off course, this leads to working in the woodshop in the practical way. In the workshop you will learn how to work with machines and tools and I will introduce you with several techniques that will help you to create your magic.
And also, how does the wood smell? How does it feel? And what happens if you go against it's skin?
We work with materials that already had a destination, a life before this. You can bring an old piece of furniture you would like to remake if it’s possible for you to bring it or find something in the local second hand shop we will visit. There is also wood available on the premises. That way the story of the wood is already begun and it’s a wonderful, sustainable way of using materials without creating any more waste!
In this retreat we'll be..
Starting each day with some form of connecting, with ourselves, each other and nature. By practicing meditation, visualization, yoga, qi gong, nature walks and also be integrating breathwork.

Creating a visionboard in the Atelier that will serve as the foundation for your altar. You will get in touch with what truly engages you, what you are passionate about, and where you want to focus your energy in the coming period.
Learning how to work with machines such as the jointer, thickness planer, panel saw, and router, as well as with hand tools like chisels and planes. You’ll learn how to sand and oil, and get to know the wood you’ve brought with you. I will guide you through the process — no extensive knowledge of machines, tools, or materials is required.
I work within a framework, using an existing base design that still allows plenty of room for you to contribute and personalize, so that your piece becomes a unique, one-of-a-kind creation.

Working with materials that have already had a previous life — something you’ve found at a thrift store or an old piece of furniture you’ve inherited from a relative with a story, waiting to be given new life.

By the end of the workshop, you will have created your own altar: a creative workspace you can connect with every day, where you can visualize your desires and bring even more beauty into being!
When and where, and what are the costs?

The workshop will take place in Bordei, Switzerland. You’ll be sleeping in lovely, comfortable bedrooms in the retreat center. You can drive over there or come by plane or train to Locarno at the Lago Maggiore, where you will be picked up from the station and have a stunning half an hour drive up the mountain to arrive in our beautiful little village.

From 18th until the 23rd of august

The costs of this 6 day-retreat will be 1111,-euro. This includes your stay, all meals and additional materials will be taken care of.
